First Steps Post Fustion
Clients often come to us post-surgery, post PT and are “released” to do Pilates. What does that mean and where should you start? In this workshop, we will begin with a review of basic protocols to follow when planning your sessions. We will then present some traditional and non-traditional Pilates exercises to get you going. As someone who has personal experience with this I will also discuss the physiological side it as well. As you know Pilates is Mind body and spirit.

Pilates and the Pregnant Client
In this course you will learn the important considerations for exercise and safety for pregnancy. In addition, you will learn the goals of exercising that you should address when working with a pregnant client. We will then take your though and discuss how to apply this information and create a safe and effective Pilates session for your client.

- Review the stages of pregnancy
- Review the systemic/physiological changes during pregnancy.
- Review common postural changes during pregnancy.
- Discuss exercise prescription in pregnancy and important considerations for the pregnant a client.

An Introduction to Pilates for Golf
The success and longevity of a golfer requires many things among them are good posture, core strength, flexibility and stability. Golf is often referred to as a “Body Mind Sport”. In this fun interactive workshop you will begin by learning basic golf terminology and the benefits of Pilates for the golfer. Moving on you will actively learn the golf swing, and proper alignment in the golf stance. Next the focus will be on movement pattern tests and Pilate’s exercises that address the golfer’s needs. Put on your plaid Pilates clothes for 2 hours of fun!

Description :
Breast cancer/Mastectomy recovery is a challenging and emotional time. Pilates can assist in the Journey by helping to increase muscle strength and flexibility while promoting circulatory, respiratory, and lymphatic function. In addition, Pilates can help to relax and improve coordination, balance and bring back self-confidence. In this course you will be introduced to the physical, mental and emotional challenges of Mastectomy recovery and be provided general protocols, so you can develop a program for your client(s).
